"This is our first year with a child at Tender Years and all I can say is "Wow!" This is the most amazing school, with the most incredibly wonderful and caring staff. My daughter loves her afternoons at Tender Years and it is the first thing she asks when she wakes up in the mornings..."is this a tender years day??" The school provides such wonderful, individualized attention and care to each child. There is no comparison to what she learns at Tender Years compared to the public school system. The breadth and depth of learning topics goes beyond what I could have hoped for. My only regret is that we didn't find out about this school earlier. I would recommend Tender Years to anyone who wants to give their little ones a head start on learning and life!"

"My twins had the privilege of attending Tenders Years for 5 years; both the nursery and kindergarten programs. They learned to read, print and developed some very important socialization skills all thanks to two very special teachers – Siobhan Solecky and Gillian Eyre.
These teachers have a way of taking education to the next level and utilizing children’s imagination to their full potential. The types of themes explored such as visiting Japan and Greece and the ways in which the classrooms were decorated was spectacular. The school trips were amazing – my kids are in grade two now and they have yet to experience the types of field trips that they had at Tender Years.
Best of all, my children always looked forward to going to school because it wasn’t school to them – it was a magical place where they forged great friendships and used their imagination to learn, explore and develop into wonderful little people.
I always said, Tender Years was home away from home because every time I dropped off my kids, I felt like I was dropping them off with their favorite relatives for an afternoon or morning of fun!"

"I have to say that my family is grateful that Tender Years have been part of our lives the last couple of years, and will be for the next few years. I wanted my son to have a positive experience with his first school. Tender Years brought much more than just a positive experience. The teachers and staff have unconditional love for the children and passion for their job. The children have higher self esteem, learn to care and respect, but most of all they have the best start in life. It is like being part of a big family at Tender Years, not only with the staff but also with the other parents. As a parent, nothing can make me happier to see my son learning and progressing so much. He also loves going to school and made many friends. As for myself, nothing beats being greeted with a big smile, positive attitude and understanding from everyone at Tender Years. It is truly a blessing for my children to experience the guidance, teaching, love and care that Tender Years provides."

"Our four years spent at Tender Years were absolutely wonderful. We were initially attracted to the beautifull space and the kind voice that answered the phone however, upon meeting the staff we were hooked! After visiting many centres, the staff at TY stood out for their loving and attentive manner to each child and for their enthusiasm...it was easy to see that they were passionate about what they were doing. The curriculum proved to be a testament to that passion. Both the Nursery school and the Kindergarten provided a rich, developmentally appropriate curriculum which was bolstered by wonderful new programs like Handwriting without Tears and the Second Step Program. They incorporated cultures from around the world and many wonderful celebrations from these far away lands as well as embracing our own country and it's uniqueness.. .Baseball Day was one of our favourites! Not only did my son blossom in their programs and become a confident and proficient student but, we made lifelong friends through the program. We feel very fortunate to have been part of Tender Years almost 30 years of teaching excellence."

"We are so grateful that we found Tender Years. The staff are always fresh, enthusiastic, creative, loving and attentive. We love being invited in for observations and parent duty. We feel we are part of this large family and our son is learning so many interesting new things at school. The teachers have found the perfect balance between structure and play and the entire program and curriculum is delivered in a fun atmosphere. Most importantly, our son feels cared for and experiences every day joyfully while learning in a supportive and engaging classroom."

"Our son Luke attended Tender Years over 12 years ago. I remember we were anxious and excited at the same time. Our anxiety gradually dissipated as we came to trust and get to know the staff.
As our son Luke has special needs, we were not sure what to expect as we let him experience a world outside of our home. What we came to realize very quickly was that he was embraced into an environment of caring, empathy and knowledgeable individuals.
Despite the numerous cognitive and medical challenges Luke had, the staff empowered Luke by focusing on his strengths and abilities, rather than his disabilities.
When it was confirmed at 4 1/2 that he needed specialized testing in the United States for potential brain surgery, they were quick to fund raise so we would have less of a financial burden. This was above and beyond what they had to do.
The staff were not only a support to Luke but our daughter and us as parents on a continual basis.
This reflection only touches on a small piece of what Tenders Years did for our son. We will always carry them in our hearts. They will never be forgotten." |
