Our SchoolTender Years Co-op School

Tender Years Co-op School offers fun and enriching half-day Nursery and Junior/Senior Kindergarten programs for children between 2½ to 6 years of age in a unique co-op setting.  We strive to provide every child with an enlightened and enriched start to learning in a safe, fun and nurturing environment.

We consistently deliver high standards of education in our premier learning facility.  Our centre is licensed annually by the Ministry of Community, Family and Children Services, ensuring compliance with the Day Nurseries Act and Peel Health Regulations.
Tender Years is a member of the Shoreline Co-operative Pre-schools Corporation, an affiliation with thirty other local pre-schools.

Our student-to-teacher ratios are 8:1 in Nursery and 10:1 in Junior and Senior Kindergarten, so your child receives the special attention and individual programming that is ideally suited to them.

Our Co-operative Philosophy

Research indicates that active parental involvement enhances a child’s learning and development.  We believe that a child benefits most when parents and teachers share common goals for the individual child.  That’s why we foster a warm climate for free communication between parents and teachers. Although we encourage active parental involvement, active and non-active memberships let you be as involved as you want to be.

All families are invited to:

Observe the unique learning experience by visiting their child during regular program hours

Participate in special school events such as the Fall Move-a-Thon, Annual Dinner and Dance,
Mother’s Day Tea, June Picnic, and Graduation

Attend parent education workshops offered throughout the year

Active families:

Attend four General Meetings

Contribute to the smooth day to day functioning of the school by volunteering for one of the following
        committees (per child):

        • Education
        • Playdough/Laundry/Library/Blue Box Team
